Who am I?
I am Dr. Scott. I am an author, educator, coach, podcaster, and empath and each of these roles deeply informs the way I show up as a therapist.
As an author, I guide clients in rewriting their stories grounded in resilience, growth, and self-compassion.
As an educator, I help clients understand how different parts of their personal history influence their present selves, while we work together to create meaningful change for the future.
As a coach, I walk alongside clients as they identify and implement solutions tailored to their unique needs and goals.
As a podcaster, I encourage clients to find and use their voice while learning to set healthy boundaries and communicate more effectively with others and with themselves.
As an empath, I offer understanding and presence instead of judgment, creating space for clients to explore and regulate their emotions with compassion.
In our work together, you'll begin to recognize that you are not the problem. Instead, we'll identify the real challenges and begin to separate them from your identity. You’ll uncover the origins of certain self-limiting narratives, examine the patterns that have shaped your behavior, and start creating new ones aligned with your goals and values.
I specialize in working with the following populations:
Black men who want to heal and grow
Survivors of sexual violence or childhood sexual trauma
Issues facing LGBTQ+ individuals and relational dynamic
Couples seeking deeper intimacy
I am kink affirming and have experience with ENM/poly dynamics.
Payment Options
-
Most services are self-pay. There are many benefits to self-pay therapy services. Some of the benefits include increased privacy and confidentiality, greater freedom in choosing treatment options, and more flexibility in the therapeutic process.
-
I am contracted at multiple sites that provide insurance billing. The insurance verification process can take up to 5 days.
Some benefits that come with using insurance for therapy includes increased affordability by reducing out-of-pocket costs and ensures access to trained professionals.
Some choose to go the private pay route for privacy reason, such as insurance requires a diagnosis, treatment options may be limited, insurance companies have limited access to confidential documentation, and insurance has the right to deny a claim.
*Insurance option is only available for individual therapy
-
Sliding scale therapy is a flexible, income-based payment model where therapists reduce their standard fees, often by half or more, to make services affordable for clients with limited income or no insurance. Fees are typically based on a client's household size and income level. There is a limited amount of sliding scale slots available.
FAQs
-
Therapy isn’t just for when something is “seriously wrong.”
Many people start therapy because:
They feel stuck or disconnected
Their relationships aren’t where they want them to be
They’re carrying things they haven’t fully processed
They want to understand themselves more clearly
If you’re aware that something needs to shift, therapy can help you figure out what that is and how to move forward.
-
Therapy can help you:
Improve communication in relationships
Understand emotional patterns and reactions
Work through intimacy or connection challenges
Process past experiences or trauma
Develop clarity around identity, needs, and direction
It’s not about “fixing” you—it’s about helping you understand yourself and make intentional changes.

The simplest answer is no. I work with people from a variety to racial and gender identity; however, I do specialize in Black men’s mental health.
I specialize in Black men’s mental health because we are an underserved community within mental health spaces. As a Black man, I want to be able to provide a safe-space for other Black men to process their lived experience without having to worry about whether their therapist is capable of understanding what it means to be a Black man.
I work with Black men who are looking for a space where they can:
Speak openly without judgment
Explore emotions more fully
Navigate identity, relationships, and expectations
-
Sex and intimacy therapy is a space to talk openly about topics that are often avoided. Sex therapy is a specialized form of psychotherapy designed to address sexual difficulties, enhance intimacy, and improve sexual health for individuals or couples. Intimacy therapy, often conducted as sex or couples therapy, helps individuals and partners overcome emotional, physical, or psychological barriers to deepen connection and improve sexual satisfaction.
This can include:
Desire or changes in intimacy
Communication around needs and boundaries
Disconnection in relationships
Sexual identity or concerns
The work is direct, respectful, and free from shame.
-
All sessions are virtual. I work with clients anywhere in the state of Georgia. This allows for flexibility, privacy, and convenience.
-
Individual therapy sessions are $135. Couples therapy sessions are $150. Sliding scale pricing ranges between $65 to $125.
Most clients begin with weekly sessions to build momentum and consistency. Bi-weekly sessions can be discussed during the consultation call or intake session.
A limited number of sliding scale spots are available.
-
As a provisionally licensed therapist, I am unable to accept insurance; however, I am contracted at multiple sites that allow for insurance billing. The insurance option is only available for those seeking individual therapy, per the practice(s) guidelines.
The covered insurances include:
Aetna
United Healthcare
Optum
Oscar
Carelon
Blue Cross Blue Shield
Ambetter
Anthem
Caresource
Many clients choose self-pay because it allows for greater privacy, more flexibility in treatment, and a more personalized approach.
-
Most clients start with weekly sessions. From there, we can adjust based on your needs, goals, and progress. Your personal budget can also become a determining factor for frequency in sessions.
-
It depends.
Some clients come in with a specific focus and work short-term. Others stay longer to go deeper into patterns and long-term growth.
We’ll align the process with what you’re looking for.
-
The simple answer is yes.
Everything you share in therapy is confidential, with a few legal exceptions:
If there is risk of harm to yourself or others
In cases of abuse or neglect
Your privacy is a central part of the process.
-
That’s exactly what the consultation is for. Finding the right therapist matters.
If it doesn’t feel like I am the right fit for you, I’m happy to help guide you toward other options.
